I perform professionally on all clarinets, saxophones, flute, piccolo, and bassoon, mainly in the classical and jazz genres. I have extensive experience in orchestra, theatre, and chamber music, and with school shows. I have performed in the great halls of Europe, Asia and North America, but am equally at home in a small rural theatre pit or even a pub!
I have been conducting professionally for over 30 years. I conduct orchestra, band, and jazz ensemble, and am available to guest conduct any of these.
Bringing 35 years of experience and study as a conductor and performer, I am finding success as I develop my passion for arranging music. I can arrange for almost any ensemble, and can adapt my arrangements upon request. See my list of current arrangements and listen to a few examples on this site.
Now a professor at Mount Allison University (mta.ca/music), I have taught at all levels and love to work with students of all ages and levels of ability. I am available to teach privately in person or on line via Skype, and am often found in classrooms both in Canada and the US.
I have published a number of articles and reviews, and am publishing my teaching techniques both on this site and in print. Stay tuned for more or contact me.
I am an experienced adjudicator of Festivals large and small: of soloists and ensembles. I specialize in helping groups improve quickly, even in short workshop sessions.
